Who’s Right, Me or Them? | Woo Woo Wednesday Podcast
Struggling to trust yourself when everyone else seems to know better? Episode 278 of Woo Woo Wednesday explores how to stop doubting your way and start choosing yourself every time.
From Self-Doubt to Self-Trust For most of my life, I believed everyone else was right.
If someone had more experience, more authority, or especially more money. I automatically assumed their way must be better than mine. My way has always looked different, so I thought it must be wrong.
I don’t hustle. I don’t follow authority well. I trust frequency over effort. I run a podcast without “marketing” it because I trust the right people will find it.
By normal standards, I’ve always looked lazy. Weird. Wrong.
And I carried that belief for years.
The Wake-Up Call
Not long ago, my husband pointed something out that stopped me cold.
He said: “You don’t believe in yourself the way you believe in me.”
And he was right.
I cheer on everyone else, my clients, my friends, even strangers. I can see their greatness so clearly that I can’t not encourage them. But when it comes to myself? I doubt. I second-guess. I assume my opposite way is invalid just because it doesn’t look like anyone else’s.
That belief, that they’re right and I’m wrong, kept me playing small.
When Their Way Is Right… for Them
Here’s what I’ve realized:
Their way is right, for them.
It’s just not right for me.
I see this with clients all the time. One of them runs a high-ticket, referral-only business and gets incredible results without heavy marketing. Yet when she spoke at a conference full of “numbers game” marketers, they pressured her to do funnels, ads, and email blasts.
For them, that’s the right way.
But for her, it would’ve been soul-sucking.
The same is true for you.
Why Your Way Matters
Think about any industry: fitness, art, coaching, writing, fashion, comedy. There are people you’ll never resonate with, and others you’ll instantly gravitate toward. What’s the difference? Their perspective. They are owning their way and it feels unique, different.
You’re here to live your life your way. To bring your unique view, voice, and approach to the world.
But if you spend your whole life believing everyone else is right and you’re wrong, the world never gets to experience that.
Your Reflection This Week
Where are you still defaulting to “their way” instead of your own?
What would it look like to finally trust that your opposite, “weird” way is actually right, for you?
Can you start choosing yourself, even when no one else understands it?
Because the next time you ask, “Who’s right, me or them?” The answer is simple: Choose you. Every time..
